1. Set a Social Media Calendar

Consistent posting is key. By publishing at the same time, you can attract more audience. More people know that you are going to post some content and will anticipate it. Also, it saves you the trouble of thinking what time you should post the content. 

However, do set enough “space”, and not flood your audience with updates, which may possibly.

This can be done by scheduling them instead of publishing them immediately. On WordPress, you are able to automate your postings. Instead of pressing on ‘Publish’, set the date and time the post should be uploaded. 

Now, you may be wondering how do I know what content to post? This is easily achievable by utilising content explorers. It simplifies brainstorming process by recommending topics and ideas for your content. You can also use these tools to look for posts on similar topics and take inspiration from them.

Another effective way is to find out what has your competitors or rivals are posting, and get inspired from their posts. Remember to put yourself in the audience’s shoes. What would keep them engaged? 

3. Drafting posts 

Occasionally, we may have writers’ block, and cannot think of the appropriate content to upload. How do we counter this? One of the ways is to save the post as draft. 

For example on Instagram, when you are unsure of what captions to write or whether your post will flow with the feed, save it as a draft first. The draft will be stored and when you find the right inspiration, you can continue on it before posting.

4. Post as you Browse

5. Draft seasonal posts

Frequency of Posts  

As much as knowing how to post, people are keen to find out “How often should I post?” There is no definite answer, but there are studies which have shown recommended number of posts per day. The recommendations are as follows: 

– 1 post per day on Facebook 

– 15  tweets per day on Twitter 

– 11 pins per day on Pinterest

These are recommended as a guide, but do try and see what works for you!
