Instagram, a photo and video-sharing social media platform, has recently launched new advertising surfaces and tools to help brands create, tell their story, and grow their business.
Music optimization for Reels ads
With thousands of people now watching and sharing Reels more than ever before, more businesses are now taking advantage of Reels ads to reach out to new customers. Ads on Instagram Reels offer businesses a great opportunity to capture the audience’s attention.
Instagram has announced that they are releasing free, high-quality songs from our Meta Sound Collection library that can be added to Carousel Ads on Reels. Businesses can manually select a song from the library or allow the app to automatically select the best music for an ad based on its content.
Ads in Explore home and profile feed
To help its users discover brands and products in more places, Instagram now allows ads in Explore and profile feeds. Explore home will now feature ads to reach people in the earliest stages of discovering new content they care about.
The platform will also test ads in profile feeds for non-teen, public profiles. Ads in profile feeds allow advertisers to expand their reach easily using existing feed assets, while still providing people the same personalized ad experience they enjoy in their main Instagram feed.
As a part of the test, Instagram will also test out a monetization opportunity that will allow eligible creators to earn extra income from ads displayed in their profile feeds, beginning with select U.S. creators.
AI-powered multi-advertiser ads
Instagram’s multi-advertiser ads will allow businesses to be discovered by users who are in a shopping mindset and have recently engaged with relevant business content in the feed. When a user expresses commercial intent by engaging with an ad, this feature will deliver more ads from other businesses that may be of interest, powered by machine learning. According to a back-end study, Instagram said adding multi-advertiser ads to ad campaigns drove improved efficiency in incremental conversions for every dollar spent.
Augmented Reality Ads
Instagram also offers an open beta of AR Ads, available both in feeds and Stories. This will provide an immersive augmented reality ad experience. Through the AR experience, powered by Spark AR, brands can encourage people to interact with the effect through their surroundings.
